Some Aboriginal Art

Room 2, Team 21 and Ruma 25 had fun creating these art works.  We had 5 year olds and 9/10 year olds working together.  Each piece of art tells the story of Bohra the Kangaroo and Dinewan the Emu.  We used line, texture, colour, shape, and value to express the story.

  2. What fantastic pieces of art work you have created. Did you create these as a group? What did you learn when working like this as a group?

It is really interesting to see how many different people can look at the same style of artwork and yet create such different pieces of art.

  3. These are truly beautiful. You have taken inspiration from the artwork you have been studying.
Did you use your fingers to make all the dots?

  10. Isn't it wonderful how symbols can be understood and passed down through generations. I love the simplicity of aboriginal art.

  11. Isn't it wonderful how symbols can tell a story and that someone took the time to record them so we can identify their meaning and share the story in the artworks

  12. Isn't it wonderful how the symbols have been shared and saved so the world can learn what the art work is sharing.

  13. What a great job you have all done. I can see the footprints of the animals. Are they on a journey? We did Aboriginal art too... Have you checked it out?

  17. Wow ! Magnificent artwork. I just love the dotty bit your children have painted. Great elements of art used and there's so much of storytelling in each picture it seems. It'll be interesting to reflect on each work in more depth.
